RCC Spread (Pad) Footing - Salient Features
Design & Standards
- Most cost-effective spread footing (pad footing) design per IS 456, extendable to other international codes.
- Supports concentric and eccentric loading at both pedestal and footing levels.
- Provides three design options (varying economy levels), all compliant with the design code.
Load Management
- Handles up to 10 support joints and 500 load combinations (LCs).
- Automatically identifies and applies all governing load combinations.
- Facilitates LC-specific input of SBC increase, factor of safety (uplift, sliding, overturning), and restoring moment percentages.
- Converts reactions from structure global to footing local axes at a single click.
Geotechnical & Stability Handling
- Computes backfill load based on footing location (corner, edge, or center) for realistic restoring force estimation against uplift—avoiding oversized footings.
- Allows user-specified limit on loss of contact (LOC) with soil.
- Performs full stability checks for uplift, sliding, and overturning.
Design Checks
- Performs detailed checks for: Safe Bearing Capacity (SBC), one-way shear, two-way shear, sagging/hogging flexure, uplift, sliding, and overturning.
- Controls footing aspect ratios (L/B, L/D, B/D) to achieve desired geometry.
- Ensures compliance with cover, bar spacing, and reinforcement limits.
Reinforcement & Detailing
- Generates scaled GA and rebar drawings with precise dimensions, clear annotations, logical color schemes, organized layers, and consistent dimension/text styles.
- Produces detailed Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) with bar shapes, dimensions, cut lengths, rebar quantities by diameter, and total steel tonnage.
DXF Output & Documentation
- Provides high-fidelity DXF outputs: GA plan, sections, and rebar detailing directly aligned with structure global axes.
- Eliminates dependency on external CAD software.
- Generates detailed design reports with step-by-step calculations, dynamic formulae, and code references.
- Enables retrieval of design reports for any chosen footing size from successful options listed in the final output.
- Produces BOQ and cost estimates for rebar, concrete, and formwork, presented in absolute values and percentages—for both individual and total footing sets.
Additional Features
- Supports both uniform and economical enlargement modes.
- Offers numerous design alternatives to suit buildings, industrial foundations, and Oil & Gas facilities.
- Aligned with Oil & Gas industry principles (PIPs and DEPs).
